About Broadgate

Broadgate is a modern office and retail estate owned by British Land and GIC. Managed by Broadgate Estates, the largely pedestrianised area is located within the City of London on the site of the former Broad Street station that closed in 1986. The project was originally designed by Arup Associates. The 32-acre (13-hectare) site was the largest office development to be built in London until the growth of Canary Wharf in the early 1990s. Broadgate boasts one of London's tallest buildings, the 541-foot (165-metre) Broadgate Tower.

Completed in 2008, the office tower has more than 820,000 square feet (76,000 square metres) of commercial space and overlooks Liverpool Street station. Broadgate is also the home of Paternoster Square, which houses the London Stock Exchange. Founded in 1801, the stock exchange is the third largest in the world and the largest in Europe. A lively dining and entertainment destination with restaurants and bars as well as street food traders, Broadgate Circle also hosts a skating rink during London's colder months.
