Business in Green Park

Like much of Mayfair, the area around Green Park is home to luxury hotels and upscale galleries. The Hilton London Green Park and the London Hilton on Park Lane are just north of the lush greenspace. The Ritz London, the InterContinental Park Lane, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane are also found along the northern edges of Green Park. Several diplomatic missions are located nearby including the Embassy of the Republic of Panama and the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. The Embassy of Japan overlooks Green Park on Piccadilly, which runs across the northern edge of the park.

Office Buildings in Green Park

Green Park's offices are largely housed in converted residential properties, many of which contain period features and elegant facades. These small-scale office developments provide spaces for a range of companies doing business with embassies, corporate offices and financial services providers in the Green Park area. Hedge funds, wealth managers, property consultants and estate agents are just some of the businesses based in the area. There are also a number of purpose-built office buildings. Devonshire House is located on the site of the former London residence of the Dukes of Devonshire.

Built between 1924 and 1926, the building fronts Piccadilly and Green Park. Also known as One Mayfair Place, the building's tenants include investment firm Bain Capital. Also in the area is 1 Berkeley Street, a seven-storey contemporary office block close to the Ritz Hotel. On-site facilities include meeting rooms and break out areas, underground parking, showers, and a videoconferencing suite.

About Green Park

Green Park was once a swampy burial ground for lepers who died in the nearby St. James's hospital. Charles II acquired the land in 1668 and converted much of it into a walled park, then known as Upper St. James's Park. The park remained isolated into the eighteenth century and was often a hangout for highwaymen and thieves on the outskirts of the capital.

Situated in the St. James's area of London within the City of Westminster, Green Park is now one of London's Royal Parks. The lush area spans 19 hectares or 47 acres, and is nestled between Hyde Park and St. James's Park. Along with Kensington Gardens, this collection of green spaces forms a stunning stretch of open land that spans much of Central London. Unlike its neighbours, Green Park does not have lakes or buildings. Monuments housed in the park include the Royal Air Force (RAF) Bomber Command Memorial, the Canada Memorial and the Diana Fountain. At the south side of the park is the Canada Gate and Buckingham Palace. The Queen's Walk was added for George II's consort, Queen Caroline.
