One in Three UK Commercial Buildings Have Foreign Landlords

One in three UK commercial buildings are owned by overseas-based investors, it was reported recently. Almost 22% of British commercial developments now have foreign owners, compared with 15% in 2000.

The report issued by the property investment underwriter claims that a further 10% of all commercial real estate is owned indirectly through funds, while foreign businesses with a British presence owned approximately 1 percent.

It is predicted that investment in British commercial property would continue increasing in the long-term, but ease in the short-term due to economy adjustment to fallout following the U.S. subprime crisis in mortgage sector.
