Goodge Street is in the heart of Fitzrovia, an area popular with creative industries north of Oxford Street between the City and the West End. About Goodge Street

Goodge Street in Fitzrovia is a one-way street that runs west to east from Mortimer Street to Tottenham Court Road. A London Underground station on the Northern Line shares the street's name, although the entrance for the station is actually on Tottenham Court Road just north of Goodge Street. Opened in 1907, the busy tube station was originally known as Tottenham Court Road until 1908.

Goodge Street station is one of a few on the London Underground's network that uses lifts rather than escalators. It is also one of the few stations with lifts that continues to use a separate entrance and exit. Goodge Street station is also one of eight tube stations with deep-level air-raid shelters from the Second World War.
